Biography Mr. Jarvis Brunson is a compassionate community leader with a big heart and an important background. Jarvis has spent the last 20 plus years as a devoted advocate for a community that is underserved. Mr. Brunson has made a personal commitment to empowering and educating others by sharing his personal experience, strength, and success. Realizing that there is desperate need to assist individuals and families that are living in underserved communities Mr. Brunson frequently advocates for services, funding and to raise awareness to reduce the stigma that is associated with mental health and other services.
As a result of his passion and dedication to helping others Mr. Brunson is well recognized at the local, state, and national level for advocating for his community. Mr. Brunson has assisted many individuals through the process of understanding the system in which the are trying to navigate. Mr. Brunson has supported hundreds of youth and families. Mr. Brunson believes individuals should have a voice and a seat at the table with discussion making power that effect their lives and the lives of their peers. Mr. Brunson has received recognition for his dedication and hard work from local, state, and national organizations. In the Broward County community with he has been known to have a powerful voice and a proven record for advocating in behavioral health, advocacy, peer services, nonprofit leadership, and other related services. Jarvis is currently involved in several community workgroups. He also sits on the Children Services Board of Broward County which is an Advisory Board to the county commission. Most recently, Mr. Brunson is the Founder President & CEO of Change Me Foundation, a nonprofit organization he founded in early 2019. After 20 years of serving his community Mr. Brunson decided to use his personal and professional experience to bring a different preoperative to our local community around human services through this organization. |

Biography David has worked in the field of Social Services, Mental Health and Substance Abuse since 1984 and attained his Master’s Degree in 1989. During that time, he has directed programs for adults and adolescents, providing services along the full continuum of care. His experience includes supervision of mental health and substance abuse inpatient treatment, detoxification, long and short-term residential programs, outpatient and aftercare programs. He has also worked for funding organizations as a planner and evaluator. David has completed research and has published journal articles and manuals related to Substance Abuse issues. David currently serves as an associate with the international training and coaching organization, VROON VDB. But most importantly, he is a father and a grandfather!

Board of DirectorVanessa Brown Hargray
Biography Vanessa Brown Hargray is a recent retiree from the Department of Juvenile Justice, where she started her employment over 40 years ago. She began her professional career with the Department of Juvenile Justice as a Juvenile Probation Officer and at the time of her retirement she had advanced to highest position on the local level to South Regional Director. Her primary responsibility was the supervision of the Chief Probation Officers in South Region of the State of Florida. Additionally, she provided oversight of the South Regional Program Office. Mrs. Hargray has served on numerous professional and community boards and agencies. She has volunteer involvement with her sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated, Harris Chapel UM Church and Holy Temple Elderly Human Services Program.
Mrs. Hargray attended Florida A&M University and the University of Phoenix. She obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Sociology and Organizational Management. She is married to Vernon E Hargray, who is the current City Manager in Miramar, Florida. The proud parent of Vernon and Brittany Hargray and grandmother of Marlo Hargray. |

Biography Jarita Brunson is currently a Site Supervisor with YMCA of South Florida afterschool programs.
Jarita brings 10 plus years working with Adolescence . She holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration. During her time working with adolescence, she managed to receive her Childcare Directors Certification. Jarita has been recognized through the YMCA for great Leadership, outstanding mentoring and for being an outstanding Supervisor to succeed through the work area. In Jarita’s downtime she enjoys volunteering in her community providing assistance to her peers with navigating the system with employment assistance resume building, state economic benefits, childcare assistance, and many other things. She a Deaconess in her church. She believes honestly, caring, respect, and responsibility will take you a long way in life. |

Biography Dr. Angela Lucas-Mumford is a versatile gifted strategist and advocate on policy issues that affect our community’s economic stability, children, families, and education. A native Floridian, born and raised in Miami-Dade, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bethune Cookman University, a Master of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education from St. Thomas University and he Doctorate in Organizational Leadership & Innovation from St. Thomas University.
With over 25 years of child welfare experience, Dr. Mumford was recognized as one of the Department of Children and Families/Child Welfare Leaders in the State of Florida. As a Director and Administrator for several organizations, her strategic operational approach increased overall staff performance, client satisfaction and built community relationships. Dr. Mumford uses her voice and resources as a platform to leverage and connect with community stakeholders who have the same vested interest to ensure our most vulnerable have the resources to survive in all capacities. An Educator, she was Rookie Teacher of the Year at Lawton Chiles Middle School in Miami Dade County. Dr. Mumford was named one of Legacy Magazines Top Educator in South Florida. A consultant to many and successful mentor- empowering young men and women to become self-sufficient and reach for the stars, motivating them to step outside their comfort zone and be the leaders that Christ intended them to be. Dr. Mumford continues to volunteer countless hours of community service through the many organization of which she is a member, of the Zeta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the North Broward County (FL) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated were she the Vice President of Programs. She serves on several boards proving fundamental direction and support for sustainability. Recognized with many awards and honors for her community activism and service, she, and her husband both serve as Deacon & Deaconess and are the Lead Servants for the Couples Ministry at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens. Prior to Emergency Medicine, I practiced as a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist, with as essential focus in Neonatal Intensive Care and Nutritional Support.
My experience with the COVID-19 Pandemic in healthcare has reinforced my drive to promote mental health wellness and stress management. During my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, swimming and outdoor activities. |

Biography Jessica Boulangger was born and raised in rural central Alabama where she developed true compassion for those around her along with the cherished quality of humility from the life experiences handed to her. Jessica's 10+ years of healthcare experience began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences at University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a Radiologic Technician, she further cross trained in other healthcare disciplines to later advance to practice management. With an MBA in Project Management Concentration, Jessica currently assists many healthcare organizations and practices in operational growth and advancement within various healthcare markets. She quarterbacks process improvement initiatives, as well as project plan coordination, through implementing Lean Six Sigma concepts and being attentive to the priority of communication.
Jessica is an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and holds several certifications in advanced and executive leadership. She is dedicated to positively impacting and leading the community by inspiring self worth, self reliance, and enhancing knowledge in others. |
